Senior Director of Media Sales

We are seeking a results-oriented Senior Director of Media Sales who inspires with energy, leads and executes efficiently and quickly, exhibits character, commitment, and integrity.

As our Senior Director of Media Sales, you will report directly to the President and will be responsible for managing the activities of our sales team, holding them accountable to performance goals, managing the pipeline on a daily basis, deal engineering to help close sales, and personnel management. This is a highly visible role that gives you the opportunity to exercise situational leadership, develop a team of reps and be an integral part in the growth and success of DZone's media unit! 

Responsibilities:

  • Build, organize, train, and manage a team of sales managers, account executives, and SDR’s to achieve and exceed annual bookings plan based on monthly quota achievement
  • Set, meet and exceed bookings goals for each product line and for the Media Unit as a whole
  • Implement a rigorous and effective sales rep training program that establishes rules of engagement, scripts, communication protocols, and closing tools
  • Collaborate with Media Marketing organization to leverage lead generation and sales conversion tools
  • Effectively guide sales team in use of our CRM (SFDC) while creating metrics to improve sales and operational performance
  • Develop programs that drive creativity and productivity; create an atmosphere that stimulates learning, development, and challenge
  • Ensure we have the right structure for the sales team along with recruiting the right people and effectively managing performance
  • Increase the competencies across the sales team by working directly with individuals and training the team on selling best practices
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to continuously improve the way we position, message, promote, and sell products

What We Look For:

  • 7+ years of direct experience in selling media products to IT and software marketing organizations combined with 3+ years of proven sales management experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Proficiency in data-driven approaches to pipeline management leveraging tools such as Salesforce and Tableau
  • Highly motivated & driven to deliver results that meet & exceed goals
  • Passion for improving global standards for customer satisfaction and a strong desire to maintain a customer focus
  • Prior experience defining and managing to compensation plans
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field of study required
