Media Sales Development Representative

This is a terrific opportunity to grow your career in tech media sales. As a Sales Development Representative, you must be energetic, positive, organized and highly motivated. You will be responsible for engaging prospective customers daily via phone and email, handling inbound inquiries, and assisting with the growth of our sales pipeline through lead generation and inside sales activities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prospect companies and products that are a proper fit to be a potential DZone Media customer
  • Conduct outbound activities via phone and email to gauge interest in DZone Media products with a goal of setting and scheduling a Discovery call with an Account Executive
  • Engage prospects in initial discussions around their developer marketing initiatives, highlighting the features of DZone products and the challenges they solve
  • Keep current on and be able to speak to tech industry trends as they relate to marketing impacts and considerations
  • Cold call into new companies using creative sourcing and engagement strategies
  • Warm call/email prospects, including Director and C-Level Executives within Fortune 2000 companies, to assess needs, qualify, and measure product interest
  • Complete 50-70 calls per day with the objective of setting a minimum of 2 Discovery calls per day
  • Collaborate directly with the sales and marketing teams to fine tune the sales process
  • Accurately forecast, manage and track all sales activity (calls, emails and meetings) in Salesforce.com
  • Ensure handoffs to Account Executives are professional and successful
  • Convey product knowledge of the full suite of the DZone Media product portfolio, adhering to company messaging and positioning

  • Commitment to high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace
  • Prior sales experience, preferably in lead generation, is a plus
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus
  • Excellent computer skills, specific proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an aptitude to learn new tools
