Sales Engineer

As we continue to grow our sales organization, we are seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team. Reporting to our Director of Software Sales, the Sales Engineer will set the stage for amazing prospect experiences with AnswerHub, curating an engaging product demonstration designed specifically to meet the prospect’s needs and address their pain points. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate a consistent prospect journey, from discovery and requirements gathering to close. Responsibilities

  • Craft a differentiated prospect experience by providing pre-sales technical support, including provisioning trial sites and prospect presentations and demos for AnswerHub platform
  • Collaborate with our Director of Software Sales and Software Account Executives on sales and solutions calls
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert on the AnswerHub platform, articulating the benefits and agility of the product to prospects and customers to solve the customer's challenges
  • Work closely with Director of Software Sales and Director of Customer Success to propose Statements of Work based on customer requirements, professional services, and technical specifications
  • Proactively scope potential technical solution(s) during the sales cycle required to address customer requirements, including assessing customers met and unmet needs, and recommending solutions that optimize value for both the customer and the organization
  • Elicit technical staff commitments on the prospect side needed to ensure a prospective deal’s “technical close”

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a sales/solutions engineer or similar technical role
  • Prior solution development experience utilizing our core technologies, including Javascript, Java 8, HTML / CSS, Spring, and Hibernate or similar technologies
  • Passion for engaging with external prospects and customers as well as cross-departmental collaboration with internal teams
  • Prior experience working with AnswerHub or similar community software is preferred
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial work ethic and ability to drive business outcomes
  • Ability to adapt to the fast-paced environment of a start-up and a continuously evolving product
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
  • Willingness and ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability in managing multiple priorities and/or projects and meeting deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Proficient in adapting to new software tools and environments
